XAI 2018 will be conducted on 7th January, XLRI – Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur has announced. The Institute has been conducting the entrance exam for more than 60 years now, the scores of which are used for admissions by over 130 MBA colleges across the Country. The official notification-prospectus for Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT 2018) is expected to roll out by next week.
Xavier Aptitude Test is the second largest MBA entrance test (following CAT) and is used by 11 Xavier Associate Member Institutes (XAMI) and 125+ Associate Institutes for admission in Management courses. Some of the premier management institutes accepting XAT scores for admission purpose include XLRI, SPJIMR, IMT and BIMTECH. While the official notification of XAT 2018 is yet to be released, the notification of CAT has been released by Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow recently.
XAT is an all-India level entrance exam conducted by XLRI to select the most appropriate students for management education. For admissions in the academic session 2017-18, the applications were taken from August 17 to November 30, extended for late applicants up to December 11. XLRI has been holding XAT on the first Sunday of each year, but last exam was held on January 8. Meanwhile, XLRI Jamshedpur has cleared that this year XAT will be conducted on first Sunday, i.e. January 7, 2018.
Going by the previous trends, the notification of XAT 2018 should be out in the second week of August and the online registrations for the test shall commence after 15th August. XLRI has not mentioned any details about XAT 2018, including registration dates, exam pattern, but the exam has been conducted in pen-paper mode till last year and is expected to follow same model.
