XLRI Jamshedpur is going to administer one of the biggest management entrance tests – XAT 2017 on January 8 and as per the schedule, the applicants have been issued the admit card for the test. The application process that kick-started on August 17 has concluded on December 11. Around 90 thousand candidates are expected to participate in XAT 2017. The applicants can access the admit card from the official website www.xatonline.net.in.
Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT 2017) would be conducted in pen-paper mode as it had been conducted till last year. Apart from XAT member institutes, 141 other B-Schools will be using XAT score for admissions into postgraduate management courses for the academic session 2017-18. After CAT and CMAT, several management aspirants prefer XAT so as to increase their chances to secure a seat in one of their preferred B-School.
XAT 2017 would be held across 47 Indian Cities and 2 International Cities in a single shift of 3 hours 30 minutes from 10 am to 1.30 pm. The question paper is divided in two sections: Section 1 comprising of Quantitative Ability; English Language & Logical Reasoning and Decision Making and Section 2 comprising of General Knowledge and Essay Writing. The candidates will have 170 minutes for Section 1, followed by another 35 minutes for Section 2.
Each question would carry 1 mark, while 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. A candidate can leave out 13 questions unanswered, beyond which they will be negative marking of 0.05 marks per unanswered question. Understanding the exam pattern becomes quite important to crack such prestigious exam and as the exam is only some 15 days around, the candidates should not let the nervousness get up on them & use this time to revise what they have learnt so far. One should not try to learn any new concept now as it could deviate them.
The results of the test will be announced on 31 January.
