Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is conducted every year in order to select the best candidates for the management education at XLRI, Jamshedpur. XLRI on behalf of Xavier Associate Management Institutes (XAMI) is conducting XAT for past 60 years. XLRI admission test is conducted nationwide and is considered by over 100 institutions across India. Based on the test scores, students will be eligible to take admission in Post Graduate Management Program in top B-Schools throughout the country.
XLRI Jamshedpur would shortlist the candidates on the basis of XAT 2016. The XAT 2016 is supposed to be conducted on January 3, 2016. Depending on the results the students would be eligible to take admission in XLRI Jamshedpur under following courses:
- 2 years Post Graduation in Business Management and Human Resources Management
- 1 year General Management Program
- 4 year Fellow Program in Management
The applications for XAT 2016 can be submitted online. Candidates will have to pay Rs 1000 as examination fee. The test score will be valid to all the Xavier Associated Management Institutes including XLRI Jamshedpur. The official notification is expected to be release by the end of August.

In order to apply for the post graduation program in XLRI Jamshedpur, candidates need to have a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or deemed university under 10+2+3 scheme. Candidates will get admission in the respective institute having valid score card of XAT 2016 or GMAT. The score cards of GMAT exam taken in between December 1, 2012 and December 20, 2014 will be considered valid for admissions.
Candidates can apply for multiple courses depending on which they could be called for multiple interviews of group discussions. In order to take admission in XLRI, candidates are required to take XAT 2016. The qualified candidates will then be called for group discussion round. Shortlisted candidates from both these rounds will be called for interview process in which the overall performance of the candidate would be considered including work experience.

The format of XAT 2016 will be similar to that of previous years. The written examination would consists of two phases; Paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 would consists of objective types multiple choice questions which mainly includes 3 sections such as quantitative ability, logical reasoning and English. Time provided will be 2 hours and 20 minutes. Paper 2 will consists of both subjective types as well as objective type questions. It will be of 40 minutes.
