Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee said that the West Bengal government had planned to institute an annual scholarship scheme in the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London. The step initiated by the West Bengal government has raised hopes among students. ‘Biswa Bangla’ scholarships is the name given to the scholarship program.
Mamata Banerjee used micro-blogging platform (Twitter) to share the news and her tweet reads, “West Bengal government had decided to institute a scheme in School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, called Biswa Bangla scholarships.” Here is the tweet from her official account :

The University of London is one of the finest universities across the globe. It consists of 17 self-governing Colleges and 10 specialist research Institutes and over 1,20,000 students are a part of the University. University of London provides various foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, as well as diploma and research degrees along with several short courses and summer programs.
Detailed information about the annual scholarship scheme will be unveiled soon, however as per the early news, two students will be chosen in the first year of this scholarship program. One student at masters category and other student, a PhD scholar would be given annual scholarship under Biswa Bangla program.
