West Bengal Central School Service Commission would be conducting the Teacher Eligibility Test as a designated authority by Department of School Education, West Bengal Government. The test would be exclusively for Upper Primary Level. As per the guidelines framed by NCTE, interested candidates would have to take the Paper-II to become eligible for Upper Primary level teacher.
West Bengal Central School Service Commission have also made a special provision for the candidates who had applied for TET 2013, they do not need to pay any application fee for WB TET-2015. However they are required to enter their earlier application and other details while submitting the application form of West Bengal TET 2015.
The application forms would be accepted only by online mode, the last date for online application being 30 June. The official website for WB TET 2015 is www.westbengalssc.com. The test would be conducted on 30 August as per the tentative schedule.
Test pattern : There would be one paper consisting of 150 questions, total time allowed to solve the questions would be 90 minutes. The three sections of the paper common for all the candidates are : Child-development & Pedagogy, Language I and Language II. Each section would consist of 30 questions.
For applicants of Mathematics and Science subjects, they would have to take Mathematics and Science paper, while for Social Studies (History & Geography) teacher, one paper of Social Studies would be set. This section would contain 60 questions. All the questions would be of objective type nature and would be of 1 mark.
As per the rule, candidates need to secure 60% marks (55% for reserved categories) to be declared TET qualified. More details are available online at www.westbengalssc.com.
