West Bengal Police Constable Exam held on Sunday

The written examination for recruitment of Constables in the West Bengal Police Department was organized on Sunday, 22nd January 2017. Over 1 lakh candidates from all over the country had participated in the recruitment process. The authorities are expected to publish WB Police Constable exam answer key soon.

The West Bengal Police Recruitment Board had issued the notification for the recruitment of 4,284 Constables in West Bengal Police and Special IR Battalion. The aspirants from various states applied for the same. As per the selection process, all the applicants were required to go through Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The tests were organized over a period of 6 months. The final selection is to be done through a written test, followed by Interview.

A limited number of candidates on the basis of qualifying PMT and PET were called by the Board to appear for a written test. Apart from the candidates belonging to West Bengal, 11,875 candidates from other states were also declared qualified for the written test. The written test was scheduled for 22 January 2017 and the admit cards were issued on 5 January.

WB Police Constable exam was administered as a single shift exam from 12 noon to 1 pm. The paper had 60 questions, with each question of 1.5 marks. The questions were distributed among five sections: General Awareness & General Knowledge (20 questions), English (16 questions), Reasoning (8 questions), Elementary Mathematics (10 questions) and Computer Literary (6 questions).

The interview holds the weightage of 10 marks and the final selection will be made through merit list based on the marks obtained by the candidates in the written test (90 marks) and interview (10 marks).

The answer keys and result of West Bengal Police Constable recruitment will be provided online at the official website policewb.gov.in.
