WBJEE seat allotment 2016: The result of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE) 1st round of counselling will be declared today, June 25, 2016.
The results of entrance exam were announced on June 5 and counselling started from June 15. A total of 1,06,888 had appeared for the exam conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) on May 17 across the state of Bengal with few centres in Assam and Tripura also.
The seat allotment result can be checked at wbjeeb.nic.in after the publication today. Aspirants will be required to enter their roll number/application number and details to check the status.
Around 35,000 seats are to be filled in engineering colleges of West Bengal through counselling taking WBJEE rank into consideration. WBJEE allotment 2016 is being published for first round counselling for engineering courses only. The entrance test for medical will be held on 20th July.
The process of choice filling took place until June 22. The board is not releasing any trial or mock list and will directly publish 1st round seat allotment 2016 results today. The time hasn’t been specified in the relavent notification but date’s set for today. The board’s official site www.wbjeeb.nic.in was down in the morning as I noticed, but started working fine by the day. It mus’vet been caused as board is prepping up to publish allotment results online.
The seats will be allocated to the candidates on the basis of choices filled by them, rank obtained and category. On a whole, WBJEEB will hold 3 rounds of counselling and seat allotment to fill-in the seats. Candidates who wouldn’t be satisfied by the seat allotted today, may opt for higher options in second or third round, following the guidelines.
The candidates who had qualified the WBJEE 2016 were allowed to participate in counselling. The schedule is same for general merit list and pharmacy merit list candidates. However, counselling for JEE Main rank holders will commence from July 3.
After the first WBJEE seat allotment result is published today, the process regarding physical reporting, documents verification, initial fee payment, collection of allotment cards from reporting centres and withdrawal of admissions, have to be completed from June 25 to July 1. The second round allotment result is to be announced on July 4.
