The students of Visvesvaraya Technolgical University (VTU) are a hassled bunch, owing to the VTU constantly changing the result dates and time table for upcoming June/July session examinations. VTU CBCS results of 3rd semester, 1st and 2nd semester students were scheduled to be out around 18-20 May but we’re past that and so far, no results.
The Varsity has revised it’s schedule for results announcement at least two times in last few days and it’s saying something when the VTU at least cared to notify. It has been a long road of delays and speculations for students who had appeared for their semester examinations back in Dec 2016/Jan 2017, more than four months ago.
“Recent times were merciful as compared to this time. Earlier VTU used to take 2-3 months in declaring results but this time it has been months. My next semester exams start in June end, results are not out till date. When will the revaluation process go and then revaluation results. I don’t know how long this will take.” one 2nd year student who is still awaiting here third semester (CBCS) result, questioned.
“Dealing with VTU has become almost synonymous with exasperation and uncertainty. No date is fixed, no notice is trustworthy.” another one added. “Next semester exams time table is out, and having to take another exam before getting previous semester’s results, revaluation results aside, is a new norm in VTU.” The varsity has even revised it’s academic calendar.
In it’s schedule that was notified over 10 days ago, VTU had noted that it will declare 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester results (non-CBCS) on May 18. While 3rd and 4th semester results were published two days ahead of the schedule, there’s no whereabouts of results of 1st year non-CBCS results. 3rd semester CBCS results were to be out on 16th May according to the first notice but it has been five days after that and VTU hasn’t cited any reasons of delay. Nearly half of the results of B.E. students are out, but half still remain.

And, the date of declaration of VTU CBCS results of 1st semester and 2nd semester have also been tweaked three times, in 3 separate notes at VTU’s website (results.vtu.ac.in). While it is expected that the Varsity will release the results within a week from now, the problem is that this delay has become a permanent feature of the varsity, and every student know it by now.
