VIT Result: Along with the declaration of VITEEE result, VIT University has also published the counselling schedule. All the qualified candidates will be intimated about the counselling dates separately.
VIT University declared the results of its entrance examination today, one day ahead of the tentative date. The VITEEE results were scheduled to be announced on April 24. The VIT Engineering Entrance Examination was conducted from April 5 to 16 in three sessions wherein over 2 lakh students participated.
The students can access VITEEE result 2017 from the varsity website www.vit.ac.in. The results can be accessed by using VITEEE application number and date of birth. The university also gives ranks to the test holders based on the marks.
VIT University adopts equating methodology for determining the percentile ranks of candidates. Equating is a statistical process used to adjust scores of the candidates who have taken different forms of a test in order to facilitate meaningful and fair comparison for merit list and ranking of candidates. The procedure is used by VIT to determine the percentile rank which is a unique and invariant position of the test taker in a particular group.
The University also provides scholarship to meritorious students under ‘GV School Development Programme’. Under the program, the toppers of each state board and central board are provided 100% tuition fee waiver for complete duration of the course. Similarly, the scholarships are also distributed on the basis of VITEEE ranks. The VITEEE applicants having rank from 1 to 50 will be provided 75% tuition fee waiver. On the same lines, VITEEE rank holders of 51 to 100 will be eligible for 50% tuition fee waiver and rank holders of 101 to 1000 will be eligible for 25% tuition fee waiver.
VIT University announced the counselling schedule as per which the counselling will be done in three days, May 10 to 12. The counselling for allocation of branches to the short-listed candidates is based on their All India Rank (AIR) in VITEEE 2017. Common selection and admission procedure will be followed through single window counselling in Vellore/ Chennai/ Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh)/ Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) campuses for all the B.Tech programs offered at four campuses of VIT Univesity.
The VITEEE rank holders of 1 to 8,000 will attend the counselling on May 10, rank holders of 8,001 to 14,000 on May 11 and rank holders of 14,001 to 20,000 on May 12. The qualified students will also be informed through SMS about the counselling.
As per the ranks, the candidates will be called for the counselling process. In the counselling process, around 5,000 seats in 17 B.Tech courses will be allocated to the four campuses to VIT University located at Vellore, Chennai, Bhopal, and Amaravati.
