The Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) is gearing up to hold the TET exam after more than a year. The Uttarakhand TET (UTET) will be held on 22 January 2017. The preparations have already been started by the candidates. All the candidates who want to become Primary Teachers or Junior Teachers were asked to send in their application for the TET exam.
Last UTET exam held in April 2015 and abiding by the rules framed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the UBSE was asked to conduct the exam again. The TET exam to be held in the State this time goes by the name UTET 2015 and will be conducted in two shifts. The applications for UTET were to be submitted from 24 October to 30 November 2016. Through a press note issued on 11 January, Uttarakhand Board of School Education announced that the UTET will be held on 22 January 2017.
Like national-level TET exam and other states’, UTET 2017 will be held as two papers: UTET 1 and UTET 2. Both the exams will be of 150 minutes duration, with UTET 1 scheduled to be held in the morning shift from 10 am to 12.30 pm, to be followed by UTET 2 from 2 pm to 4.30 pm.
The admit cards were sent to the candidates through registered post/ speed post and additionally, the admit card were also uploaded on the official web portal.
UET 2017 will be conducted in 176 test centers across 29 cities. A total of 73,109 candidates will be appearing for this test. As much as 15,962 candidates have registered for UTET-1, while 57,147 candidates will appear for UTET 2. Paper 1 is meant for those who want to teach students from class 1 to class 5, while Paper 2 is for those who want to teach students from class 6 to class 8.
