Total 1,319 exam centers were set up across the state, with around 129 test centers in Dehradun district. The exams were conducted in a peaceful manner across the State and now the evaluation of answer sheets shall begin.
A total of 148,230 regular students, apart from 5,584 private students appeared for Class 10th exams. While 1,25,087 regular and 8,330 private students were registered for Class 12 exams. Going by the past few years’ statistics, the results of Uttarakhand Board remains around 78 percent. However, some major steps were taken by the Board this year so as to improve the results.
The Class 10th results are quite important for the students as this is the first ‘Board Exam‘ a student faces. The result is also important because the admissions in diploma courses are based on Class 10th results. Also, the admissions in Class XI depends on the marks one gets in Class 10th, hence in order to secure admission in a reputed school, one needs to secure marks high enough.
For Class 12th students, the marks scored in board exams hold immense value as the determination of merit for admissions in many higher education institutions is based on the 12th class marks. For PCM group students, the major entrance exam – JEE Main is over and hence if one has not registered for any other exam, he/she can relax. For PCB group students, the all-India level NEET is due next month.
