While addressing the gathering Mr. Yadav said, “Lucknow, the city of Nawabs can become the ‘medical capital’ of the country.” The two reason quoted by him for the proposal was increasing number of medical institutions coming up in Lucknow and establishment of top institutions will further cater to need of entire nation.
During the foundation stone laying event, Medanta Chairman and Managing Director Naresh Trehan, State Health Minister Ahmad Hasan and expelled SP leader Amar Singh were also present.
CM Akhilesh Yadav addressed, “Aside of the PGI and Lohia institutes, a new cancer institute is also being established in the nearby area of Lucknow. King George Medical University of Lucknow is one of the biggest universities. In days to come when Medanta will be ready, Lucknow can become the medical capital of the country.”
Chief Minister further added that it was the priority of government that all sections of society could be treated in Lucknow and that there were other hospitals in the state capital apart from upcoming Medanta.
Akhilesh Yadav while expressing his gratitude towards Medanta authorities said, “This beginning has been made by you. Through this not only people will get treatment facilities, even poor patients will be benefited. On the part of my government, I assure all possible help.”
