The upbasiceduboard.gov.in, the official website for Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET 2017) is testing the patience of TET aspirants. The TET exam is scheduled to be held on October 15 and with less than 10 days in the exam, the aspirants are eager to get hold of their admit cards. UP Basic Education Board uploaded the admit card of UPTET 2017 on its official website yesterday, however, the slow website (often returning to The Service is Not Available) is playing the spoilsport.
As many as 10,09,347 aspirants have applied for UPTET 2017, of which, exam authority has rejected 32,587 applications. Therefore, 9.76 lakh candidates will appear for the UPTET on October 15. Among these, 3,49,192 applications have been submitted for primary teachers (Paper 1) and 6,27,568 applicants have applied for the higher primary (Paper 2).
UP Basic Education Board has also published a list of rejected applicants, as per which, total 8,216 applications have been turned down as the applicants do not possess required qualification for the exam. Another 24,371 applications have been rejected as the aspirants have submitted multiple applications. This includes 14,791 applications for Paper 1 and 9,580 applications for Paper 2. According to the Secretary of Examination Regulatory Authority, Dr Sutta Singh, NIC will determine the examination centers in all the 75 districts of the State.
UPTET 2017 will be conducted on October 15, 2017, in two shifts. The applicants can download UPTET admit card 2017 by visiting the official website of upbasiceduboard. Once redirected to the page, the candidate can fill registration number and date of birth in dd-mm-yyyy format to download the UPTET 2017 admit card.
Candidates appearing for the post of teachers for Class 1 to Class 5 will have to appear in Paper I while those taking the exam to become teachers for Class 6 to Class 8 will have to appear in Paper II. Candidates desiring to be eligible for teachers for both Classes 1 to 5 and Classes 6 to 8 need to appear for both the papers. UP TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) is held for determining the eligibility of the candidates for the post of Teacher in Government schools.
UPTET Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be held for 150 marks each. The duration for both the Papers will be 150 minutes. In the case of UPTET Paper 1, there will be sections such as Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I (Hindi), Language II (English or Sanskrit or Urdu), Mathematics, and Environmental Studies. Each section will carry 30 questions of 1 mark each. In the case of UP TET Paper 2, there will be sections such as Child Development and Pedagogy (30 questions), Language I – Hindi (30 questions), Language II (English or Sanskrit or Urdu) (30 questions), and Mathematics and Science (or) Social Studies (60 questions).
The applicants need to score over 60 percent to pass the eligibility test. There will be no negative marking criteria. The answer keys will be released two days after the exam, that is October 17 and the candidates will be allowed to submit the objections by October 21. However, the date of result is not yet finalized. This year Shiksha Mitras (ad hoc teachers) who have been demanding permanent jobs will be allowed to appear for Teachers Eligibility Test (TET). Those who qualify it will become eligible for the post of teachers.
