UPSSSC Lower Subordinate examination was conducted on Sunday (June 26,2016) for a total of 1.06 lakh registered candidates, wherein candidates have alleged that there were irregularities in the examination process. Upon radar is one examination centre of Lucknow, Shyama Chandra Convent Inter College, Krishnapalli, Alambagh.
The examination was conducted in two shifts; first shift from 10 AM to 12 PM while second shift from 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM. The exam was conducted at 169 centres in Lucknow. Amid the allegations of paper leak, officials have started probe into the matter. Out of total 169 exam centres, there is one centre under suspicion and that is Shyama Chandra Convent Inter College. There are conflict reports about what exactly happened at Shyama Chandra Convent Inter College as we take a look into the news reports.
Just before the start of exam, candidates were surprised to see the question paper being circulated outside the exam centre in Allahabad. Within minutes, the paper was circulated to different cities through WhatsApp, which irked candidates. Once the exam was over, candidates came to know the actual question paper was same as the one that was being circulated. Candidates, therefore, appealed to cancel the paper, Patrika reported.
One candidate – Shoaib Maqsood who took the paper in Shyama Chandra Convent Inter College, Lucknow, has been alleged to be benefitted from the leak as he was having the solutions of the question paper.
The Nodal Officer ADM Anil Kumar Singh told Times of India, “There is no possibility of a leak as the admit card on which solutions were written was found after the exam was over.” He also told that it may happen that the examinee had written answers while solving the question during the exam. The matter has been reported to UPSSSC, he added.
“While we were submitting our answer copies, we noticed that an examinee (Shoaib) had all options written at the back side of his admit card which confirms the paper leak. We reported the matter to the school principal who denied leak. We then approached the police who refused to file FIR,” said another examinee Jitendra Kumar Siddhartha, as quoted by ToI reported.
In the whole matter Deputy SP Rajesh Yadav said, “When we saw the answers written on Shoaib’s admit card, they were of Set A question paper, while he was given Set B of question paper. This too calls for a thorough probe.”
Another report from NavBharat Times mentioned, candidates appearing in the exam at Shayama Chandra Covent Inter College have alleged the involvement of an invigilator in the leakage of question paper. The report mentions, one particular invigilator handed a paper to a candidate and then the candidate was filling the OMR sheet from that paper. When another candidate had a look into that paper, he found out it was the admit card which had all the right answers of OMR Sheet. When candidates started protesting, the invigilator locked himself in a room and threw away the paper.
As the reports are indicating allegation of question paper leakage, there are conflicts on what exactly happened. UPSSSC is to come out with proper probe into the matter. UPSSSC Secretary Mahesh Prasad said there are reports from Lucknow and Allahabad and the Commission has sought report from DM. The Commission would take action based on the probe, he assured.
