The Union Public Service Commission conducts the National Defence Academy & Naval Academy examination twice (April & September) in a year. The exam (NDA & NA II, 2015) for admission into the National Defence Academy for 136th course and for 98th course in Indian Naval Academy is scheduled for 27 September, the official notification of the exam was issued in June. Candidates are required to go through 2-tier process which includes written examination and interview process conducted by Services Selection Board (SSB) for final selection. The course would commence on 2 July 2016.
UPSC released the e-admit cards for all the applicants on 7 September and same can be fetched online till 26 September. The examination would be conducted at different venues located at 41 centres throughout the country. NDA & NA (II) exam 2015 is being conducted for total 55 posts in Indian Naval Academy and 320 posts in the National Defence Academy (out of which 208 are for the Army, 70 for the Air Force, 42 for the Navy). The application process for the exam ended on 23 July.
3-years training at the National Defence Academy will lead to graduation in B.A/B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Computer Science) degree from the Jawaharlal Nehru University and the candidates joining the Indian Naval Academy would undergo 4 years B.Tech Course and would be commissioned in executive and technical branches of the Navy as per the availability of vacancies.
Total duration for the written test is 150 minutes, the test paper would consist objective type questions based on Mathematics and General Ability test. Mathematics section would carry weightage of 300 marks while General ability section would be of 600 marks. UPSC has already notified that the results of written test would be announced on 20 November.
