Union Public Service Commission had released admit cards for the Civil Services Prelims exam on 27 July 2015. Applications for the exam were accepted till 19 June 2015. UPSC is going to conduct the IAS Preliminary exam on 23 August 2015, the official notification was rolled out on 23 May. Several lakh candidates have registered for the exam to get into Indian Administrative Services, Indian Forest Services & Indian Police Service.
Civil Services Preliminary exam will consist of two papers, both Objective type in nature and will be of 400 marks (maximum). Prelims examination serve as a screening test only for Mains exam, hence marks obtained in Preliminary exam by the candidates will not be counted for determining their final order of merit. As per the official notification, one should remember that the ratio of shortlisted candidates will be about twelve to thirteen times the total approximate number of vacancies to be filled in the year through this examination.
Candidates can pay a visit to the official web portal of Commission to fetch their admit cards which will be accessible only after entering required details like registration ID or roll number.

Candidates must carry their admit card with them to the exam center as it has important details like name, roll number, venue allotted etc. Instructions must be read carefully and must be checked if the details are correct. The candidates who will get through the preliminary exam, would be eligible to write Civil Services Main written exam. In a similar manner, candidates will be further shortlisted to appear for interview round based on their performance in Mains exam. Final selection would be made after completing the Personal interviews.
