UPSC Civil Services Exam 2015 Notification Postponed, New Dates Due

Civil-Services-ExaminationUnion Public Service Commission have postponed the release of notification of Civil Services Examination 2015, which was scheduled to be rolled out today, as per the official calender. Several lakh aspirants across the country were waiting for the release of Civil Services Examination 2015 notification, but all they got is a postponement notice, that too without any reason.

Civil Services examination is divided in three phases – Preliminary exam, Mains exam and Interview. Candidates prove their eligibility for the posts of Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Revenue Service (IRS) amongst others through the test.

UPSC have already declared the date for Civil Services Preliminary exam as 23rd August and hence the notification is much awaited. However no official reason have been stated from the authority, it is most likely that the notification has been delayed due to the confusion surrounding the existence of CSAT in the exam process. On 13th May, Government declared that it will continue with Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT) in the Preliminary examination. It also set 33 percent score as the pass mark.

The official site was updated as “Civil Services Examination 2015, which was scheduled to be notified on 16th May 2015 is now being postponed. The revised date of notification will be intimated in due course.”

Keeping in view the complaints made by Civil Service aspirants regarding the syllabus, eligibility, scoring scheme and question paper pattern of CSAT, Central Government will appoint an expert committee to look into the matter and make out the final decision regarding the conduct of CSAT in Civil Services Preliminary examination.

More than 12 lakh candidates take the Civil Services Preliminary examination every year and it is one of the toughest examination conducted in the Country. The competition is quite severe as the percentage of qualifying candidates lies below 1%. Aspirants are advised to keep focus on their preparations, the official notification will soon be out and therefore the dates for application will be revealed.
