UPSC civil service prelims exam on August 7; admit cards released

The first stage of Civil Services Exam conducted by UPSC will be held on 7th August. Admit cards are now available for this preliminary examination which can be downloaded from the official website www.upsconline.nic.in. While this is a first paper in the row of civil services exam, there will also a mains examination for those candidates who qualifies the first paper. And for the final selection of posts, a personality test will be done in which individual candidates would have to face interview round.

The preliminary exam is of 400 marks and it consists of two papers. The paper I will consist of General Studies and the weightage of this paper will be of 200 marks. This paper will be counted for qualifying to write the Mains exam and, the second will be of aptitude test commonly known as CSAT. However, this paper is of qualifying nature, candidates will be required to score at least 33% marks in the paper and marks of this paper will be not counted for the Mains exam.

As barely one month left for the exam, the candidates need to relax their mind and focus on revision part. Also, it is advisable from the experts that nothing new should be studied in this time otherwise it would lead to anxiety and disorder in the mind. The main focus area should be on mocks.

Candidates are required to read instructions carefully written on the admit card before going to take the exam. The candidates are also required to check their credentials, in the case of discrepancy they can directly contact the commission.
