The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has uploaded Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2017 admit card for the examination to be held on November 19, 2017. The candidates can download UPSC CDS Exam (II) 2017 admit card/call letter from the official website UPSC. To download admit card, the candidates will have to enter their registration number, date of birth (in dd/mm/yyyy format), Captcha code and click on submit to get admit card. Candidates should check their e‐Admit Card carefully and bring discrepancies, if any, to the notice of UPSC immediately.
The Union Public Service Commission will conduct the Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2017 at different venues located at 41 Centres throughout the country. In case the photograph is not printed or available on the e‐Admit Card, candidates are advised to carry three (03) photographs (one identical photograph for each session) along with proof of identity such as Identity Card etc. and printout of e‐Admit Card at the venue of the Examination to secure admission in the Examination.
There will be penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type Question Papers. Answers other than those made by Black Ball Point Pen would not be evaluated. Selection of the eligible candidates will be done on the basis of results of the written examination followed by intelligence and personality test by the Services Selection Board.
The Competitive examination comprises of written examination, Interview for intelligence and personality test. For Admission to Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Air Force Academy, subjects covered are: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The duration for each subject is 2 hours. And, the maximum marks for each subject is 100. For Admission to Officers’ Training Academy, subjects covered are: English, and General Knowledge. The duration for each subject is 2 hours. And, the maximum marks for each subject is 100.
The maximum marks allotted to the written examination and to the interviews will be 300, 300, 300 and 200 each for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers’ Training Academy respectively. The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective type questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) of General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
As the answer sheets will be evaluated by the computerized machines so the candidates are advised to fill their details and marks answers carefully and accurately as the entries made by the candidates by darkening the circles will be taken into account while evaluating the answer sheets by computerized machines.
Candidates are advised to go through the instructions carefully given in the answer booklet before answering any question at the time of examination.
Approximately, 414 posts will be filled through this exam: 100 for the Indian Military Academy, Dehradun, 45 for Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala, 32 posts for Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, 225 posts for Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai, 108th SSC Course (NT) (For Men) and 12 posts for Officers Training Academy, Chennai—22nd SSC Women (Non-Technical) Course.
