A total of 24,51,474 students took the board exams this year, as around 2 lakh dropped out of the exam.

With the new government taking control of the State, it was made clear since the beginning that no free hand will be given to erring schools. In this regard, multiple schools were barred from hosting the board exams, while several others were blacklisted. The evaluators were also given clear instruction to check the answer sheets carefully. The answer sheets of the students having scored more than 90 percent marks have also been checked twice to rule out the possibility of errors.
