Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the date of civil services prelims exam 2017. UPPSC PCS prelims will be conducted on 24 September, 2017 and will be in offline mode. The date for the availability of admit card for PCS prelims exam has not been disclosed by the Commission yet.
The commission had earlier set the date of this written examination as on May 21, however, has now rescheduled the test for conduct on September 24, 2017. Close to 3.5 lakh aspirants have been waiting for more than 3 months to get a hold of the prelims exam date, which the commission revealed earlier this week by uploading the calendar of events on it’s website. There are 251 tentative vacancies notified under this recruitment examination.
Considering that the exam is set for September last, it will be safe to assume that the Admit cards for the will be issued sometime around late-August or September first week. The exact date, however, has not been decided yet. The candidates are advised to visit frequently at the UPPSC official website http://uppsc.up.nic.in to check all the updates.
The UPPSC PCS prelims exam will be conducted offline, on OMR sheets. The candidates have to appear for two compulsory papers to qualify for the main exam. Each paper will be of 200 marks and will be conducted for 2 hour duration. Both the paper will have 150-200 multiple choice questions. It is mandatory for candidates to appear in both the papers. The merit of the candidate will be determined as per the marks obtained in paper (I), whereas the candidate has to score at least 33 percent in paper (II) for the qualification. Paper I will be conducted from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and Paper II from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
The competitive examination consists of 3 successive stages:
- Preliminary Examination (Multiple Choice)
- Main Examination (Written Examination)
- Viva-Voice (Personality Test).
