UPPCL has postponed multiple recruitment examinations that were scheduled to commence from Thursday, September 7. UPPCL had earlier scheduled the written examinations for Office Assistant, Assistant Review Officer, Assistant Private Secretary and Stenographer Grade 3 posts from September 7 to 12, but a fresh notice has been issued by the Corporation announcing postponement of the exam. The notice dated September 5 has been undersigned by the Secretary, ESC, UPPCL and was uploaded a few hours ago on the official website of UPPCL.
The recently uploaded notice (No. 5434- Camp./ESC/UPPCL/2017) mentions, “the examinations for the posts of Office Assistant, Stenographer- III, Assistant Private Secretary, and Assistant Review Officer has been postponed due to floods as well as climatic force conditions in the state.” The notice can be fetched from here.

As per the new notice, UPPCL new exam date will be informed shortly! UPPCL had issued the notification (01/VSA/2017) on 20th July to recruit 2,757 Stenographers (III), Office Assistants (III). There are 2,530 posts for Office Assistant and 277 for Stenographer. In other notification (02/VSA/2017), UPPCL notified recruitment for Assistant Review Officer and Private Secretary posts. The number of posts for Asst. Review Officer is 66, 13 for Additional Private Secretary, and 06 for Additional Private Secretary (Dept).
Exam Pattern for Stenographer and Office Asstant: The written exam will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) distributed in two parts. Part 1 will be based on Computer Knowledge carrying 50 questions. Part 2 will carry 150 questions on the subjects such as General Studies & reasoning, General Hindi, General English. Office Assistant (Accounts) will have subjects such as Arithmetic (25 questions), General Hindi & English (50 questions) and Accountancy & General Book Keeping (75 questions). Each question will carry 1 mark.
There will be a negative marking and 1/4 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer in both parts. The applicants need to attain at least 50% marks in Part-1. If the applicants do not qualify in part 1, no further evaluation will be done. The selection process will be based on written exam and Typing Skill Test.
