Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Lucknow has invited online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the post of junior engineer (trainee). There are 71 vacancies in UPPCL and 155 vacancies in UP Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL). The number of vacancies is tentative and can be increased or decreased according to requirement.
The online submission of the application form along with fees and processing charge will commence from October 08, 2017 and will end on October 31, 2017. The computer-based test (CBT) for selection of candidates will be tentatively held in the third week of November 2017. Candidates can pay the fees and processing charges online.
Candidates applying for the post are required to have the thorough knowledge of Hindi (Devnagri script). If he/she has not passed high school or equivalent examination in Hindi, he/she will have to clear an exam conducted by the registrar, Department Examination, Government of UP, within three years of joining.
PAY SCALE – Pay Band 2, Pay Scale INR 9300 – INR 34,800 + Grade Pay + Dearness Allowance and other allowances.
APPLICATION PROCESS – Candidates have to apply online on the official website of UPPCL.
APPLICATION FEE – Domicile of UP, candidates belonging to SC/ST category will have to pay INR 600, while candidates belonging to General and OBC category will have to pay INR 900, and those belonging to Physically Handicap will have to pay INR 10.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA – The candidate should have passed three years diploma examination in electrical engineering awarded by Pravidhik Shiksha Parishad, UP or equivalent diploma recognized by state government. OR 3 years diploma in electrical engineering conducted by AICTE or conducted by any university in India incorporated by an act of central/state legislature.
As on July 01, 2017, the minimum age of the candidate applying should be 18 years and maximum should be 40 years. There is the relaxation of age for certain category of candidates.
ABOUT THE TEST – The test will comprise of 200 questions carrying 200 marks meaning 1 mark each. Candidates will be given three hours to take the test. The computer-based test will be held at Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Gorakhpur, Kanpur, Bareilly, Noida, Lucknow, Greater Noida, and Meerut.
Out of the 200 questions, 150 will be from the diploma level engineering branch syllabus for the post applied, 20 questions of general knowledge/awareness, 20 of reasoning and 10 on general Hindi. Each correct answer will be awarded one mark and 0.25 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.
SELECTION PROCESS – Candidates will be selected on the basis of written test only. The selected candidates will have to undergo training, for a period as decided by UPPCL.
