Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited has recently announced to fill over two thousand Grade-III vacant posts. There are a total 2,555 posts notified under the Advertisement No. 11/VSA/2016, these posts include 259 Stenographer Grade-III and 2,296 Office Assistant Grade-III posts. The details like eligibility criteria, selection process are mentioned in the advertisement while the application starts in two days.
UPPCL would open the online application process for Grade 3 Steno and Office Assistant posts from December 8, while the last date for submitting the applications has been set as December 29. The SC/ST candidates will have to pay Rs. 700 as application fee, while it is Rs. 1000 for others. For PH candidates, the application fee is Rs. 10. The eligible candidates can apply at official website uppcl.org.
Graduates passed out from recognized university are eligible for Grade 3 posts and the Commission has not listed minimum marks criteria for eligibility. However, the Hindi typing speed is required to be minimum 40 words per minute for both posts. For Stenographer posts, an additional requirement of minimum speed of 60 words per minutes in Hindi Shorthand is there.
The Corporation has proposed the online exam for Grade 3 Steno and Office Assistant posts to be held in the second week of January. The exam would consist of two papers, with 1st paper being qualifying in nature. Hence, the marks obtained in the 1st paper will not be taken into consideration for selection purposes. Paper 1 : DOEACC ‘CCC’ level exam will be there to test the computer knowledge of the candidates. There will be 50 questions in the paper, each having 1 mark. Negative marking (1/4 marks) will also be applicable. The candidates who will obtain marks below than 50%, will be rejected then & there and Paper 2 of such candidates will not be checked.
Paper 2 : This paper will consist of 150 objective type questions divided equally among three sections (General Studies & Logical Reasoning, General Hindi and General English). The paper carries the weightage of 150 marks.
The candidates will be shortlisted for the typing test on the basis of performance in the second paper. The candidates as much as five times the number of vacancies will be invited for the typing test which will be of 5 minutes.
