JEECUP has failed to release the seat allotment result for firs round of Polytechnic admissions. The allotment result was scheduled to be out yesterday but isn’t out yet.
As the counselling for admission to polytechnic colleges in Uttar Pradesh is underway, the first round of seat allotment for JEECUP is likely to be declared today on July 5. Over 1.34 lakh seats in 503 polytechnic institutions are up for grab including government, aided and private colleges.
The counselling began from June 25 after the declaration of results, which itself were delayed by almost 10 days. The Joint Entrance Examinations Board, Uttar Pradesh (JEECUP) has also extended the date for document verification process till 3rd July. The official notification for counselling schedule indicates that first round of JEECUP seat allotment will be published at www.jeecup.org on July 5, 2016. The timing hasn’t been specified.
Out of 4.69 lakh who took the UP Polytechnic entrance exam held on 1st May across 1172 test venues in the state, only 4.43 lakh could qualify and were allowed to participate in the counselling. JEECUP has set up 76 help centres across the state.
It was not only the delay in results that halted the admission process to polytechnic courses in the state, even cheating scam surrounded JEECUP this year. Amid allegations of cheating, JEECUP cancelled the result of the topper and 28 other candidates. However, all these issues didn’t affect the admission process much.
The counselling will go through four rounds till 8th August and spot round counselling will be held on 8th August.
For the first round, UP Polytechnic seat allotment result is being announced today and admission to the allotted seats will be taken within next four days. Candidates who will get a seat/college in this round will be required to deposit security fee and complete admission formalities from 5 July to 8 July.
The registrations and choice filling for the second round will take place from 10th July and allotment for that round will be out on 15 July.
