All the state-aided and self-financed polytechnic colleges in Uttar Pradesh will conduct exams twice a year from this very academic session onwards. This is so because the Polytechnic administration at its meeting has finally decided to start semester system from this session only. Additionally, the polytechnics have been issued strict and clear instructions to announce the results also on time as the colleges fail to announce results in time.

Director, technical education, Ajay Kumar Singh said that it was decided in the meeting that all 129 state-aided, 19 self-financed aided and 350 private polytechnics in the state would start the semester system from this session only.
Orders have been issued to communicate to students about the new curriculum, course and guidelines within ten days. Meanwhile, new courses of as many as 58 subjects have also been approved by Institute of Research Development and Training with proper guidelines. After getting the final nod from the cabinet, its brief report had already been sent to all principals of the polytechnics.
