The admission process of Gujarat University is soon to be complete and as per the reports, around 2,532 seats are yet to be filled in various courses at undergraduate level. Courses such as Bachelor of Computer Application (BCA), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) are struggling to fill up the vacant seats around the colleges under Gujarat University.
Gujarat University is one of the popular Universities across the country and students used to eagerly wait to get admission in one of the colleges affiliated to GU. However, as per recent scenario, a lot of seats has remain vacant for various professional courses whether it be engineering or pharmacy. Similarly, courses like BBA and BCA shows no different situation other than engineering or any other course. There were approximately 8,000 vacant seats after the completion of second round of counselling and in order to fill up the vacancies the university decided to go up to fourth round. Even after the completion of fourth round there are still some vacant seats left in self-financed colleges.
Earlier the Gujarat University had decided to organize a centralized admission to fill up all the GU affiliated colleges through online mode. The officials noticed that the candidates are not reporting to respective colleges after counseling process, leading to a vast number of vacancies in the commerce colleges.
Owing to the condition of the self financed colleges, the university officials has decided to conduct fifth and final round of counselling for those students who were unable to follow the procedures. The admission process is supposed to start from Tuesday.
The candidates can check the list of vacant seats from the official website of GU. All the candidates willing to take admission in the BBA, BCA and B.Com have to fill up new fresh application form for the fifth round. All total of 2,532 seats are vacant in the following courses. In particular almost 361 seats are available in Bachelor of Computer Application, 542 seats are vacant in Bachelor of Business Administration and approximately 1221 number of seats are available to students in Bachelor of Commerce for the fifth round of counseling in Gujarati medium colleges. But those who wants to pursue these courses in English there are around 408 vacant seats available across all Gujarat University affiliated colleges.
However, the Gujarat University has also decided to admit the students who have qualified their class XII boards examination in second attempt i.e by clearing supplementary exam.
