Over 51 thousand aspirants will be taking the medical entrance exam of TS EAMCET; which is being conducted on July 9 by JNTU Hyderabad. Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU) Hyderabad, the conducting authority for the entrance, has released the hall tickets which have been made available at the official web portal. All the registered candidates can access the EAMCET 2 hall ticket by using their registration number, qualifying exam hall ticket number and date of birth.
After the completion of EAMCET (Engineering Agriculture Medical Common Entrance Test) held on May 15, Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) directed Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University to conduct the second test, especially for admissions in medical and courses seats in government colleges and under Convenor quota in private colleges as the Central government allowed state government to hold its own CET for medical and dental admissions, irrespective of pan-India entrance test NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).
The online applications for EAMCET 2 were invited from June 1 while with seven days extension in the application process, candidates were able to submit application forms without late fee by June 14. Around 51 thousand aspirants have registered for EAMCET 2. There are around 2,000 seats in MBBS and BDS courses to be filled through EAMCET 2.
EAMCET 1 was taken by over 1.3 lakh aspirants, while the second test received only 51 thousand applications. Authorities cited various reasons for less number of registrations. TSCHSE Chairman Papi Reddy said, “In Eamcet-1, nearly 30,000 candidates did not qualify. Naturally, majority of them will not apply again. Also, the medical seats on offer are only 2,000, which is the convenor quota in all government and private medical colleges. So only students who have seriously prepared for a career in medicine will be writing the test.”
As the EAMCET 2 will be conducted on 9 July, the second phase of NEET will be held within two weeks, on July 24. Mr. Reddy added, “The two tests will be held with a gap of two weeks. So time is a factor.” He said as the seats available under EMACET 2 are only 2,000, so students who are not confident of getting a seat through EAMCET 2, have preferred NEET. He also mentioned that since the exam patterns of these two exams are slightly different, students are focussing on only one test to grab the seat in their preferred course.
TS EAMCET 2 will be conducted from 10 AM to 1 PM on July 9 and the question paper will consist total 160 questions. There will be 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry along with 80 questions from Biology (40 each from Botany and Zoology).
As the hall tickets for EAMCET 2 test have been uploaded at dedicated web portal med.tseamcet.in and candidates will be able to download EAMCET 2 hall ticket till July 7.
