Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), Chennai has issued the hall tickets for Polytechnic Lecturer exam. The written examination for Direct Recruitment of Lecturers (Engineering / Non-Engineering) in Government Polytechnic Colleges 2017-18 will be conducted by TRB Chennai on 14th September. TRB had released a notification (No. 06/2017) regarding the recruitment of 1,058 Polytechnic Lecturers on 28th July. As per the official press release, total 1,70,363 applications have been submitted for TRB Polytechnic Lecturer exam. TRB releases notification for teaching jobs and recruits applicants based on the merit scores in the exam. The applicants can download the TRB polytechnic hall ticket 2017 from the official website- trb.tn.nic.in. The written exam is scheduled to be held on 16th September in a single shift from 10.00 am to 1.00 pm.
TRB had earlier issued the notification (no. 04/2017) on 16th June this year, but as per the Judgment in W.P.Nos. 17201 to 17203 of 2017 dated 05.07.2017 of the Hon’ble High Court of Madras, the notification was cancelled. A fresh notification in this regard was issued by TRB on 28th July. Earlier, the exam was supposed to be held on 13th August, but now it will be on 16th September.
There will be two successive stages- written exam, followed by awarding weightage marks during verification of Certificate process. The written exam will comprise of a single paper having 150 multiple choice questions on General Knowledge and Main subject. The applicants will be given 3 hours to complete the examination. In the main subject, there will be 100 questions carrying 1 mark each and 40 questions carrying 2 marks each based on the subject chosen by the applicant. In the case of General Knowledge, there will be 10 questions carrying 1 mark each. The maximum marks in TRB Polytechnic exam will be 190.
As far as the selection process is concerned, the applicants who qualify in the written exam will be shortlisted for the verification of Certificates. The Board will prepare the list of the applicants for verification of the Certificate in the ratio of 1:2, based on the obtained marks in the exam.
After the certificate verification, the total obtained marks by each applicant will be evaluated by adding weightage marks to the written exam marks and a merit list will be prepared. Selection will be made from the merit list by following the merit-cum-communal rotation. The ultimate eligibility of the applicants will be subject to the decision of Teachers Recruitment Board and the appointing authority. The appointment orders will be issued by the concerned department to which the applicants are provisionally selected.
The applicants can now download TRB Polytechnic hall ticket 2017 from the official website trb.tn.nic.in. The candidates will have to input their respective application number and password to get TRB hall ticket.
