Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) in it’s official “annual planner 2017“, which contains the dates and schedule of upcoming activities relevant to recruitments and exam, has mentioned the exam date for the post of Village Administrative Officer (VAO) as 17 September, 2017, however, no notification has yet been received for the recruitment process, which was scheduled to be published in the month of June.
The notification for the VOA exam conducted by TNPSC was expected to be released in the second week of June, but no information regarding the same is updated on the official website yet. This delay in the release of the notification creates a possibility that the exam for the same won’t be held at the scheduled date. As per preliminary reports fetched by our staff, so far there are chances of the exam being pulled off, rather it is expected that the notification should be out in about a week.
The candidates should expect the examination to be held on a different date, most probably in October. All the candidates are advised to keep preparing for the exam and be updated about the notification dates, examination date of the exam. However, all the preliminary information about the recruitment and exam should be taken with a grain of salt until an official notification appears at the official website.
In 2017, the said VAO exam is to be conducted for filling up a total number of 494 vacancies. From previously conducted exams’ data, TNPSC VAO exam will be of 3 hour examination, which is of 300 marks, and consist of total 300 items. To qualify the exam, candidate have to score at least 90 marks. The exam consists of subjects such as: General Studies (75 items), basics of Village Administration (25 items), aptitude and mental ability Test (20 items), general Tamil/General English (80 items).
