Taking a step further towards building the future of the students, Telangana University situated at Nizamabad signs a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Chicago State University of USA on Sunday. Entering in MoU with Chicago State University will facilitate the exchange students and staff members of both these universities. The MoU was signed by the officials of both the university in the presence of K. Chandrasekhar Rao, honourable Chief Minister of Telangana. Various other officials such as State Minister N. Narsimha, P. Srinivas Reddy and state government’s special advisor Mr. D. Srinivas were also present in the event where C. Parthasarathi signed the MoU on the behalf of Telangana University.
An initiative by Nizambad’s MP Mrs. K. Kavitha, both the universities have entered into a mutual agreement for student exchange programme. In this event, senior Vice President of academic affairs in Chicago University, Davis Kanis, mentioned that, this would enable smooth exchange of the students and staff members from both these universities and also the students will directly get admission in the Chicago University without needing to qualify in TOFEL or GRE test.
Until now, the MoU thus signed by the officials of these universities leads to the exchange of as many as 75 students mainly from technical backgrounds including students from computer science department every year. The agreement is also said extend for the exchange of students from other departments such as chemical technology, nursing department and pharmaceutical department in future. Mrs. K. Kavitha stated that the main intention of the making such arrangements is to promote the students from rural areas of the state who wants to pursue their higher education from well renowned countries like USA.
