Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University issued a notification on May 27 regarding the common entrance for medical admissions, terming it as TS EAMCET-II 2016. It is to be noted that common entrance test for admissions to engineering courses has already been conducted in the state on May 15 and the CET for medical courses was also supposed to be conducted on the same day, but the same was deferred owing to the Supreme Court’s ruling which cancelled all the CETs for medical admissions across the country. The notification came only after when the Central government brought an ordinance paving the way for states to conduct their respective CETs for admissions into medical courses, MBBS and BDS, offered at government colleges through CET.
Acting on the updated ruling, JNTU moved forward with CET for medical aspirants and released a detailed notification for TS EAMCET-II (medical common entrance test). Telangana State Council of Higher Education had rendered the responsibility of conducting the common entrance test to JNTU Hyderabad, which mentioned in its notification dated May 27 that medical common entrance test 2016 (TS EAMCET-II 2016) will be conducted for entry into the first year MBBS and BDS courses only offered at government colleges and convenor quota in Private colleges for the academic year 2016-17.
The counselling for admissions for around 2500 medical and dental seats in Telangana will be held after the publication of TS EAMCET II 2016 rank list, the rank list (merit list) will be prepared on the basis of combined score obtained by giving 75 percentage weightage to the marks secured in medical common entrance test and 25 percent weightage to the marks secured in relevant group subjects, the notification added.
JNTU will conduct medical common entrance test on July 9 in one shift, the exam timings notified are from 10 AM to 1 PM. Online registrations for TS EAMCET II 2016 have begun from June 1 and willing students can register for the exam till June 7. However, the registrations could be made till July 6, but students will have to pay late fee accordingly.
TS EAMCET-II 2016 (Medical Common Entrance Test)
Telangana medical common entrance test will be conducted on July 9 and the test will be of 3 hours duration. The entrance test would comprise of total 160 questions with 40 questions each from Physics and Chemistry, there will be 80 questions in Biology section (Botany & Zoology). TS EAMCET medical entrance test can be taken in English, Telugu and Urdu medium.
The council has also made 20 help line centers to help students for TS EAMCET-II 2016. Candidates also advised to keep a regular check on the official website of TS EAMCET 2016 for updates on medical common entrance test.
