Symbiosis International University (SIU) administered the Symbiosis Entrance Test – SET 2017 for admissions in its undergraduate institutes. The entrance test comprised of five papers, of which the candidates were required to appear for only one as per their selected course. The test was conducted in two shifts, one was morning shift from 9.30 am to 12 noon, while another was afternoon shift from 2.30 pm to 5 pm. Symbiosis entrance test was conducted at multiple test centers in 21 cities.
The online registrations for Symbiosis Entrance Test were done from December 26 to April 13, while the admit cards were issued on April 22. The test was conducted today for admissions in 14 undergraduate institutes of SIU, including Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies & Research; Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies (Pune & Noida); Symbiosis Center for Media & Communication; Symbiosis School of Economics; Symbiosis School for Liberal Arts; Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts; Symbiosis Law School (Pune, Noida & Hyderabad); Symbiosis Insititute of Design; Symbiosis Insitute of Technology; Symbiosis Institute of Health Sciences and Symbiosis College of Nursing.
Based on the courses, the Symbiosis SET 2017 was conducted in five different papers – General, Law, Design, Engineering, and Health Sciences. Law and Design papers were conducted in the morning shift, while General, Engineering, and Health Sciences papers were conducted in the afternoon shift.
As far as the exam pattern is concerned, General, Design, and Law papers comprised of 150 questions, each carrying 1 mark. Other two papers consisted of 100 questions, each of 2 marks. Based on the performance of the candidates in the SET 2017, they will be awarded ranks. The results of Symbiosis SET 2017 are poised to be declared on May 19, based on which the admission process would commence.
Each institute under the Symbiosis International University has its own independent selection process, and hence there is a different cut-off for each institute. Based on the SET results, the institutes will announce shortlisted candidates for further selection process. The institutes will also announce the waiting lists.
The scores published by the Symbiosis Test Secretariat will be final and hence no request for revaluation will be considered once the results are declared. After the declaration of SET result, the institutes will conduct PI-WAT for shortlisted candidates. The schedule for the same will be published on the websites of respective institutes.
