Stiff competition for Bank Jobs; 69 thousand candidates appear for 154 posts under KCC Bank Recruitment

Kangra Central Co-operative Bank is one of the oldest bank which came into existence on 17 March 1920 and operates through 202 CBS branches spread across 5 districts of the State, namely, Hamirpur, Kangra, Kullu, Una and Lahaul & Spiti. To further improve its position and smoother operations, Kangra Central Co-operative Bank Ltd. has recently opened recruitment to fill Grade-III & Grade-IV posts, the process of which is undertaken by Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE).

stiff competition in kangra bank examThe exam was initially scheduled for 22 November, and was first postponed to 6 December. However the board again shifted the exam date and finally the written test has been conducted today, on 20 December in which 68,939 candidates participated. Board had even extended the dates for online registrations due to large number of applications. In total 91,859 applications were received for total 154 posts which includes 11 posts for Computer Operator, 15 posts for Officer and 128 Clerk posts.

KCCB Grade III Officer recruitment exam was conducted from 10 AM to 12 Noon, Clerk exam from 1 PM to 3 PM and Computer Operator exam consisted of two papers; first paper from 1 PM to 3 PM and second paper from 3.30 PM to 4 PM. KCCB Officer and Clerk exam paper were of 200 marks while Computer Operator exam paper is of 250 marks. The exam has been successfully conducted at 192 test centers. Candidates who have applied for Computer Operator posts were required to appear for 50 marks test on Knowledge of Computer Application.

Considering the large number of incomplete applications, the Board has not allowed total 22920 candidates to appear in the written test as they have not filled the fee details while filling up their application forms. The board even facilitated the opportunity to such candidates to prove their eligibility by showing up the fee receipt in board office. After completing this process, Board uploaded the list of rejected candidates in its official website. The final list of rejected candidates lists 2587 candidates for Computer Operator posts, 5869 for Officer posts & 14474 candidates for Clerk posts.

The above mentioned figures are enough to give an idea about the increasing unemployment in the country where if we take number of applications into consideration, around 600 candidates applied for one post on average. HPBOSE will prepare the merit list based on the performance of candidates in written test and will call the qualified candidates for interview to complete the selection process.
