SSC Stenographer admit card 2017 released – Region-wise update

SSC Stenographer 2017 exam date has been shuffled by the Staff Selection Commission and now the exam will be held from September 11 to 14. The applicants of SSC Stenographer exam 2017 are currently waiting for the Commission to issue the admit cards and at the time of writing this story, 4 out of 9 SSC Regional Offices have uploaded the SSC Stenographer admit card 2017. Staff Selection Commission will conduct the computer-based exam for filling the vacancies of Stenographer Grade C & D. Initially, the Steno exam was scheduled to be held from September 4 to 7, but the dates have been pushed by a week by the Commission. The notice for changes in the exam date was published by the Commission on August 28. The examination will be conducted for filling the posts of Stenographer Grade C and Grade D in the ministries/Department of Central Government, including their attached/subordinate offices located in states and union territories.

SSC Stenographer 2017 admit card is now available for four regions – Central Region, Madhya Pradesh Region, Western Region and Kerala-Karnataka Region. The admit card of Stenographer exam can be fetched from the official websites of respective regions:

SSC Steno online exam will be conducted as a single paper having 200 questions. The questions will be distributed among three sections: General Intelligence & Reasoning (50 questions), General Awareness (50 questions), and English Language and Comprehension (100 questions). Each question will carry 1 mark and 0.25 marks will be deducted for each incorrect answer. The exam will be conducted each day in multiple shifts of 2 hours each.

SSC will announce the results of online exam along with the list of shortlisted candidates. These candidates will then have to take a Skill Test in Stenography, which will be qualifying in nature. The candidates who qualify in the skill test will be recommended for appointment by the Commission on the basis of total marks in the Computer Based Examination. The allocation of candidates will be made to User Departments depending upon their merit position and the option exercised by them.
