The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) released the official notification for the Combined Recruitment of Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhyapak Examination 2017 on April 15. The exam has been notified to fill Junior Translator posts in Central Secretariat Official Language Service, Ministry of Railways, Armed Forces Headquarters; Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator posts in subordinate offices; Senior Hindi Translator posts in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments/ Offices and Hindi Pradhyapak posts in Central Hindi Training Institute. The Commission has not indicated the number of vacancies to be filled through JHT Exam 2017.
The aspirants have been waiting for the JHT exam notification for a long time now. As the notification was rolled out, SSC also opened the application window. SSC JHT application form can be filled at the official site www.ssconline.nic.in. The application fee is Rs. 100 and can be paid through SBI challan/ SBI Net Banking or through credit/ debit cards of any bank. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC, ST, PwD and Ex-Servicemen categories are exempted from paying the exam fee.
The facility will remain open until May 5, up to 5 pm. The candidates will be allowed to make the payment of application fee up to May 8 provided the challan is generated before 5 pm on May 5. While filling the application form, the candidates will also have to mark the preference for posts.
The minimum educational qualification for all the posts (except Hindi Pradhyapak) is Master’s Degree and Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice-versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking. For Hindi Pradhyapak post, having Bachelor’s Degree is sufficient.
The applicants will have to go through a two-tier examination process comprising of an online test and one descriptive type test. The online test (computer-based written exam) – Paper 1 and descriptive exam (Paper 2) will be organized on June 15. Both the papers will carry 200 marks.
