Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the answer keys for Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract) Examination 2017. The SSC JE Computer Based Examination for recruitment of Junior Engineers in various government services was conducted from January 22 to January 29 at different centres all over the country. The candidates can check SSC JE answer key 2017 from the official website ssc.nic.in.
SSC activated the ‘Link for candidate’s response sheet, tentative answer keys and submission of representation’ on Tuesday and invited the candidates to check the SSC JE answer key, their response sheet and submit representations. The candidates can use the challenge system index from the link given in this notice.
The candidates can view their answer keys after filling in details of their roll number, password and exam date. After login, candidates can check the correct answers of the paper they had attempted, view their response sheet and submit the representations (if any). Representation in respect of the tentative answer key will be submitted online up to February 19, 2018 (5.00 PM) on payment of Rs.100/- per question/answer challenged. Representations received after 5.00 PM on February 19, 2018, will not be entertained by SSC under any circumstances.
Paper I of SSC JE 2017 was a computer-based test. There were three sections namely general intelligence and reasoning, general awareness, and third one was stream specific. In the third section, candidates were required to attempt questions on civil and structural or electrical or mechanical. Section 1 & 2 were of 50 marks each and third section was of 100 marks.
The answer keys released by SSC are tentative and the final keys will be uploaded after the challenges are submitted and sorted out by the Commission. The results will be declared only after the representations are sorted out. Last year, the cut off was 100 for civil engineering and 115 for electrical/mechanical engineering. The category-wise cut-offs varied from 84.5 to 115 marks.
Staff Selection Commission will announce SSC JE result 2018 of paper 1 on March 26, 2018. The result will indicate roll numbers of those candidates who have qualified in the Paper 1. In order to qualify, candidates need to score minimum cutoff marks. Candidates qualifying paper 1 will be able to appear in paper 2.
Junior engineers will get recruitment in departments such as Central Water Commission, Central Public Works Department, Military Engineering Services, Department of Posts. These posts come under group B non-gazetted posts.
