The Regional Offices of Staff Selection Commission (SSC) have started uploading the admit cards of Junior Engineer examination scheduled to start from January 22. As of now, four regional offices – Southern Region (SR), North Western Region (NWR), Central Region (CR), and Madhya Pradesh Region (MPR) have issued SSC JE admit card 2018, while the rest of the Offices will make the admit cards available later this week.
SSC JE Paper 1 will be held in computer-based mode from January 22 to January 29 after being re-scheduled. The exams were originally penned for January 22 to 25, 2018. SSC conducts Junior Engineer (JE) examination to fill Group ‘B’ Non-Gazetted posts in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Quantity Surveying & Contract.
There are total 9 regions of SSC and these are Northern Region (NR), Central Region (CR), Eastern Region (ER), North Eastern Region (NER), Western Region (WR), Southern Region (SR), Karnataka Kerala Region (KKR), Madhya Pradesh Region (MPR), and North Western Region (NWR). While the application process is carried out through a centralized portal, the admit cards are issued to the applicants by their concerned Regional Office.
The applicants can download SSC JE admit card from the respective Regional Office’s website after filling in their respective login credentials. After login, candidates can download the admit card and get a print out of the same. Candidates should bring 3 passport size photographs for affixing it in the Commission’s copy of SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Admit Card 2018 in the presence of Invigilator. If you are not carrying photographs then will not get entry to the exam hall.
The Paper I of Junior Engineer will be a computer-based test. Candidates will have 2 hours to solve the paper, which will carry 200 marks. The paper will be divided into three sections: General Intelligence Reasoning, General Awareness, Any one of these: Part A General Engineering (Civil & Structural), Part-B General Engineering (Electrical), and Part-C General Engineering (Mechanical)
If there is an error on the admit card then the candidates may contact SSC. The exam center once allotted to the candidate by the Commission will be final. Any request in this regard will not be considered.
SSC will conduct the Paper 2 (Tier 2) on April 29, hence the results of Paper 1 are expected to be out in February or March. Tier 2 will be descriptive paper, those qualifying the Tier 1 exam will be called to appear for Tier 2. Upon the results of tier 2 paper, the candidates’ marks of tier 1 and 2 will then be taken into preparation of final merit.
