SSC CHSL result out; cut off peaks at 127.5 in tier 1 exam

Staff Selection Commission just declared SSC-CHSL 2016-2017 tier 1 result. The Tier 1 exam was conducted in the Computer Based mode for recruitment of Lower Divisional Clerk, Data Entry Operators, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Court Clerk. The exam was conducted on all-India level from January 7 to February 8, 2017, and total 30,57,993 candidates appeared in it. Means, only 1.739 percent qualified in the exam and that states the level of competition.

Based on the Tier 1 cut-off, 53,201 candidates have made it to the selection list. This includes 14,517 general category candidates, 20,813 OBC, 7,879 SC and 3,509 ST candidates. Another 4,415 candidates have been declared qualified from Ex-Servicemen category. The cut-off for General category has gone up to 127.50 marks, an increase of over 8 marks from last year’s 119 marks. Also, the cut-off for OBC category has crossed the last year’s general category cut-off and is 120 this time.

Apart from 14,517 general category candidates who have secured marks higher than the cut-off marks, 10,607 OBC, 1,215 SC and 208 ST candidates have also been declared provisionally qualified at general category cut-off. The marks of the qualified/ non-qualified candidates and final answer keys along with the question papers will be published shortly on the Commission’s website.

The commission had notified of the announcement for tomorrow, but declared the result today itself. You can check the results at www.ssc.nic.in now.
