The admit cards for SSC CGL 2016 will be released starting from August 16 the information of shifts and timings will be made available from August 12. SSC was to avail the admission certificates from August 10 before.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will release Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination admit cards on August 16 for the first ever online exam for CGLE 2016.
SSC CGL admit card for Tier 1 exam will be released by the Commission on August 10 and the registered candidates will be able to download their respective admit card from the regional offices’ websites. Over 8 lakh candidates have applied for the CGL Tier-I, which will be held online.
The Combined Graduate Level Examination, commonly referred as CGL or CGLE was notified earlier this year to fill approx 3,815 Group B & C posts including Assistant Section Officer, Assistant, Inspector (Income Tax, Central Excise, Preventive Officer, Examiner) in various Ministries/Departments/Organisations. The tier-1 exam was initially scheduled to be held in May, however, the Commission revised the exam dates once the dates for registration were extended.The Commission had also announced the changes in the examination process and decided to conduct
The Commission had also announced the changes in the examination process and decided to conduct Tier-1 and Tier-2 examination in computer based examination mode. The selection process now consists of Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 and Tier 4 (Data Entry skill test/Computer Proficiency Test – wherever applicable). Both Tier-1 and Tier-2 exam will consist of multiple-choice questions. Tier 3 exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode and would consist of descriptive paper in English/Hindi. The tier-1 exam remains qualifying in nature, however, the final merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance in Tier-1, Tier-2, and Tier-3 exam. There will be no interviews.
SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be conducted from August 27 to September 11, 2016, and the duration of the exam would be 75 minutes. The exam on the first three days i.e. August 27, 28 & 29 would be conducted in two batches (10 AM to 11.15 AM and 4.15 PM to 5.30 PM), while for other dates, the exam would be conducted in three batches per day with first batch from 10 AM to 11.15 AM, second batch from 1.15 PM to 2.30 PM & third batch from 4.15 PM to 5.30 PM. The Commission has reduced the number of questions from 200 to 100 while each question would carry 2 marks, thus taking maximum marks to be 200.
CGL Tier 1 exam would comprise of four sections : General Intelligence Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Each section would contain 25 questions of 50 marks. The exam would also have the provision of negative marking and hence 0.50 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer from total score. Only those candidates scoring qualifying marks in the Tier-1 exam will be allowed to appear for Tier-2 exam which is tentatively scheduled to be held in November. SSC has also introduced Tier-3 exam this year which would be a descriptive type paper and would be of 100 marks.
The Commission has notified that the CGL Tier-3 exam and data entry skill test/computer proficiency test is tentatively scheduled to be held in January, followed by the announcement of final result by the last week of April 2017.
