SSC CGL result 2016 and marks expected next week; answer key released

SSC CGL 2016: The result for Staff Selection Commission (SSC) Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2016 Tier 1 examination is expected to be declared on sometime next week and the SSC CGL answer key 2016 were issued on September 21 along with candidates’ response sheet. SSC conducted the CGL exams in online mode for the first time between August 27th to September 11th.

SSCReportedly, a total of 14,25,234 candidates had appeared in SSC Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2016 (Tier-I) even though close to over 25 lakh had applied.

Apart from releasing the answer keys, SSC also allowed the candidates to submit their representations against the answers in their response sheet. The window to submit such representations will end tomorrow on September 26th, at 5 pm. Candidates will have to pay Rs 100 per answer to make representation. The same procedure is applicable for answer keys too.

In a circular issued earlier today on September 25, SSC said that if any candidate has made the payment and he/she has been unable to make representations, he/she can inform to the concerned regional director of SSC.

Candidates may check the official answer key for SSC CGL 2016 Tier 1 examination by visiting and by logging in through their user id and password. To calculate their marks, candidates can tally the answers they marked in the exam versus the correct answers given in the official answer key.

The marks of candidates will officially be released with the results which are slated to be declared within next 2 weeks.

Considering that the process to make representations will end tomorrow and SSC will take few days to sort them out, and also that the Tier 2 exam is poised for November 2017, SSC CGL result 2016 for tier 1 exam is expected to be declared by the end of September or the first week of October if it goes there.

Assorted Mussings :

  • SSC has not fixed the dates yet but the tier 2 examination is expected to be conducted in November 2016 and the schedule for Tier 3, Tier 4 exams is not finalised yet, although are to be held in early 2017.
  • The vacancies for CGL 2nd round are yet to be collected by the Commission from state and region wise zones. The number of vacancies may increase after round 2 of collection.
  • The notification for SSC CHSL 2016 is expected to be released on October 8, 2016.

So, far the Commission has not fixed a date for declaring SSC result (CGL 2016). We’ll update more here when we have. Watch this space for more news.
