The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Tier 1 exam 2016 admit card today for all regions. SSC CGL admit card 2016 for candidates of Western region were released yesterday but the same for the rest of the regions were issued earlier today. The details of the admit cards for all candidates are available on www.ssc.nic.in and it’s regional sites.
Candidates can now also check their exam centre details in the e-admit card. The admit card would not be dispatched and candidates are required to download their’s from SSC’ online regional sites.
Changes in SSC CGL 2016: In a first for CGL examination, SSC will be conducting the test in online mode, aborting the traditional pen and paper mode. The decision was taken by SSC panel to eliminate malpractice involved, and by mulling over the increasing cheating and paper leak scams in the country these past few months.
According to the data received from SSC sources, over 8 lakh candidates have registered for the combined graduate level exam in 2016, up by few thousands from last year. The Tier 1 exam’s pattern also witnessed some changes from the hands of SSC as there’ll now be 100 questions instead of 200 and test duration has been reduced to 75 minutes from previously set 120 minutes.
The CGL examination process this time will consist of three-phase process i.e., now tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 exam will be held. Those will clear the starter will ultimately make the cut to the next. The exam pattern for tier-2 remains unchanged and schedule for tier 2 will be notified after the declaration of results for CGL tier-1.
Admit Cards: Initially the admit cards were scheduled to be issued from August 10 but on the day SSC notified that admission certificates would now be made available from August 16. However, candidates were provided the facility to check their personal details and test city, timing etc details from August 12 only.
It must be noted that admit cards are being released according to the schedule of the examination. First off, your exam date, exam timing, test city and centre details would be mentioned on the admit card.
Candidates who will take the examination on dates from August 27 to September 4, they can download their CGL admit card from today (August 16) while candidates with exam dates later than of September 4th, they’ll be issued their admit cards from September 27th. Candidates can also checkout the official notification for details.
- Online test from August 27 to 29, 2016 : SSC CGL Tier 1 exam 2016 would be conducted in 2 batches; 10 am to 11.15 am and 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm.
- Online test from August 30 to September 11, 2016 : Tier 1 exam would be held in three batches; 10 am to 11.15 am; 1.15 pm to 2.30 pm and 4.15 pm to 5.30 pm.
- No test would be conducted on September 5, 2016.
Note: Your exam date and time will be provided in your admit card.
