The Symbiosis National Aptitude Test (SNAP) 2016 will be conducted on December 18 across 30 cities for MBA (Master of Business Administration) admissions. The Registration form for SNAP examination will be released on August 22.
Admissions in Postgraduate courses of Symbiosis International University (SIU) are done on the basis of the students’ performance in the SNAP Test. The University has been organising the test since the year 2007 to shortlist students aspiring to join MBA programs offered by the institutes of the varsity. The 14 institutes under the ambit of Symbiosis International University will admit students for MBA course on the basis of their performance in SNAP 2016. Recently, the dates/schedule of SNAP 2016 were announced by the varsity.
The official notification of SNAP 2016 will be released on August 21 and the registrations would commence from next day. The interested students will be able to register for the test till November 22. As per the schedule, SNAP 2016 will be conducted on December 18 across 30 cities in the country and the admit cards for all applicants will be released online on December 2. The university will announce the results of the aptitude test on January 9, 2017.
The test will be conducted in paper-pen mode this year too as its previous edition, containing 180 multiple choice questions. The students will have to mark their answers on the OMR sheet to be provided at the test centres. While all the major & minor entrance examinations are adopting computer based tests, the Symbiosis International University has stuck to its traditional paper-pen based test. The university pointed out that the exam will not be switched to computer based format until and unless the possibility of any error in copying of data is eliminated in online test. Director of SIBM Pune, Dr. R Raman Director told MBA Universe, “With an online exam, there are higher chances to make mistakes especially while copying data in Data Interpretation questions. Also making notes, marking questions which are important is also not very convenient. Until the online pattern of exam is proved & tested for ease, and convenience for aspirants, SNAP will remain paper-pen based only.”
The candidates are judged on their English, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and Analytical & Logical Reasoning in the aptitude test, following which they become eligible to register with the institute of their choice. The respective institutes conduct another round of group exercise, personal interaction and writing ability test (GE-PIWAT) to complete the admission process. As the results of SNAP 2016 will be announced on January 9, 2017, the university would release the list of shortlisted students for GE-PIWAT by the third week of January. The GE-PIWAT will commence from the first week of February 2017 in respective institutes and the merit list will be released by the end of February month.
