Shivaji University was formed in the year 1962 in Kolhapur in the state of Maharashtra. For students in 282 affiliated colleges, Shivaji University had invited applications for the upcoming October 2015 semester exams. As per a SUK circular, about 512 exams will be concluded in October exams. With normal fee, students can submit their exams forms by 21 August 2015.
Late fee would be collected if the students submit their forms between 22 August and 28 August. Super late fees would be collected from students if they submit their forms between 29 August to 4 September 2015. In the board of examination meeting held on 24th July 2015, application dates were finalised.
Shivaji University would conduct its October semester exam for various under graduate and post graduate courses in 56 days, as stated in an official circular. According to SUK official, exam dates would be announced soon.
SUK controller of exams, Mr. Mahesh Kakade said that the department conducted and completed March semester exams in 56 days as against 79 days earlier it took to complete. Schedule would be brought down to 45 days and then to 30 days. Exam department had planned the October 2014 semester exams in 56 days also.
Shivaji University is named after the Great Maratha Warrior and founder of the Maratha Empire Chhatrapati Shivaji. SUK was inaugurated on 18 November 1962 by the then President of India, Dr. Radhakrishnan. One of the major objectives behind foundation of this University was to cater to the regional needs of South Maharashtra.
The jurisdiction of Shivaji University is spread over three districts; Kolhapur, Sangli & Satara and more than 2 lakh students are associated with 282 affiliated colleges and recognized institutes. Shivaji University started functioning with 34 affiliated colleges and about 14000 students with 5 Post-graduate Departments on the campus. There are 10 major faculties under the University; Arts, Social Science, Science, Commerce, Education, Fine Arts, Law, Medicine, Ayurvedic Medicine, Engineering and Technology.
