The State Board of Technical Education and Training has extended the last date for online filing of Andhra Pradesh POLYCET applications by two days. The application process was scheduled to wrap today, however, making some changes in the schedule, SBTET will now allow the students to register for the entrance test till 10 am, April 15. The entrance exam is scheduled to be held on April 28.
The application process was initiated by the Board on March 21 and the students were asked to register for the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test. SBTET has also set up 93 helpline centers across the State so that the students do not face any difficulty in filling the applications. The test is conducted by the Board on annual basis for admissions into all Diploma courses in Engineering/ Non-Engineering/ Technology offered at Government, aided, private, unaided Polytechnics/ Institutions in Andhra Pradesh State. AP POLYCET 2017 will award ranks to the students for admissions in the academic year 2017-18.
AP Polytechnic entrance exam 2017 will be organized in a single shift of two hours (11 am to 1 pm) on April 28. The exam will be taken as a single paper having 120 multiple choice questions. The questions will be framed as 60 questions from Mathematics, 30 questions from Physics and 30 questions from Chemistry and each question will be of 1 mark. The questions will be based on the Class 10th (SSC) syllabus.
SBTET has fixed minimum marks for declaring a candidate to have passed in the entrance exam as 30%, i.e. 36 marks out of 120, however, SC/ST candidates will be assigned ranking irrespective of marks obtained in the entrance test.
