The notification for SBI Specialist Cadre Officers (SO) 2018 recruitment exam has been released by the State Bank of India. The applications for this recruitment can be submitted through the official website www.sbi.co.in.
The State Bank of India (SBI) in a notification released on Thursday said that it has started the recruitment process for hiring of Specialist Cadre (SO) against 50 posts. In 2017, the application process for PO commenced on February 7th, 2017 and vacancies were around 2,313. This year, the notification has come a month earlier than usual and with a significant decrease in the number of vacancies, something which can be assumed as not at all beneficial for the aspirants.
This is the situation even when the SBI has merged with its associate banks last year, it’s unclear whether 50 positions are enough to be filled in the nationalized bank of India. The Specialist Officer in SBI will be recruited both on a regular and contract basis.
The process of submitting online application forms for SBI SO 2018 recruitment has commenced from Friday and the last date to register is January 28, 2018. Online fee payment can be made until January 28, 2018. The application fees/ intimation charges for the general category candidate is Rs 600, while for reserve category candidates, it is Rs 100. Date of the online test (tentative) is February 25 and the call letters are expected to be made available on February 12. The call letter of SBI SO online test will be uploaded on Bank’s website and also advised to the candidates through SMS and emails.
The job profile of the SO will be to conduct Audit of branches/offices of the Bank and/or its Subsidiaries/Associates/JVs located within India or abroad at the direction of the Internal Audit Department of the Bank; prepare reports for the activities audited containing the findings of audit; Preparation of memorandum/reports for reporting to Management and/or Board Level Committees; Any other work that may be entrusted by the Bank.
Following the pattern, the candidates will be selected on the basis of online written test and interview/ group discussion. The pattern of written test is as follows: Test of Reasoning (50 questions and 50 marks), Qualitative Aptitude (35 questions and 35 marks), English (35 questions and 35 marks). The time duration of these 3 sections is 90 minutes. Last section Professional Knowledge will contain 50 questions, however, the marks are 100 and the time duration is 45 minutes. Test of Reasoning, English, and Qualitative Aptitude are qualifying in nature and marks thereon will not be reckoned for arriving at the Merit.
An adequate number of candidates as decided by the Bank will be called for Interview/ Group Discussion. Group Discussion will carry 20 marks and Interview will carry 30 marks. In case the Group Discussion is not held, Interview will carry 50 marks.
