SBI releases call letters for pre-exam training, countdown for prelims begins

State Bank of India is going to administer one of the biggest banking examination in few days time and well above 2 million aspirants will be testing their mettle in it. As the candidates enter in the examination schedule, here’s a quick review of the proceedings happened so far and to come.

The biggest bank of India had rolled out the PO Recruitment advertisement (CRPD/PO/2016-17/19) in February for filling 2,313 vacancies of Probationary Officers (PO) on an all-India basis. The applications were invited from eligible candidates during the one-month long process in which expectedly around 2.5 million candidates had participated.

Being the foremost step of the selection process, all the applicants will have to undergo a screening test; Preliminary examination, followed by the Main exam. The Prelims exam is scheduled to be held on April 29 & 30 and May 6 & 7. The call letters for PO Prelims exam are due to be released on April 15.

Before the Prelims exam, a certain number of applications belonging to SC, ST and Religious Minority Communities have been given the opportunity to experience the process of an online exam. The selection of such candidates is done during the application process itself wherein one can opt for the pre-exam training. The Pre-examination training will be held at various centers in 57 selected cities.

Since all the examinations for PO Recruitment are conducted as online tests, the pre-exam training session is conducted by the Bank to support the underprivileged section of the society, thus following the guidelines of the Government of India to give equal chances of selection to them.

The call letters for PO Pre-exam training have been made available from today as it will be held from April 17 to 22. The exact date of pre-exam and venue can be known by acquiring the concerned call letter from the official website. The candidates can fetch their pre-exam call letters from here.

As far as the preliminary exam is concerned, the call letters are expected to be available one or two days ahead of the scheduled date, i.e. April 15. The exam will be of 100 marks and will test the candidates for proficiency in English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The results will be out on May 17 and in just two weeks time, the Main exam will be organized. As much as 46,260 candidates will be shortlisted for PO Main exam which is scheduled for June 4.
