The notification for SBI PO 2017 recruitment exam has been released. The applications for this recruitment can be submitted from today i.e., February 7th, 2017.
The State Bank of India (SBI) in a notification released here on Monday said that it has started the recruitment process for hiring of probationary officers (PO) against 2313 posts lying vacant. In 2016, the notification was issued in March and vacancies were around 2200. So, in 2017, the notification has come a month earlier than usual and with a slight increment in the number of vacancies, something candidates will definitely benefit from.
Even though the bank is looking to merge with it’s associate banks, it’s unclear how it will affect the hiring. A study goes on to say that new hirings will get trimmed upto 20%. But since the merger is still in process, situation is not completely clear. There will be no more hiring under those 5 associates banks’ administration.
The process of submitting online application forms for SBI PO 2017 recruitment commences from today (February 7th) and the last date to register will be March 6th. The application fees/intimation charges are also to be paid within this timeline.
Following the pattern, the preliminary and main, both exams will be held online. Prelims will be held on four days i.e., April 29th & 30th, and May 6th & 7th. The call letters for prelims would be issued from April 15 and the results of the exam would be announced on May 17th.
The main exam will then held on June 4th for those candidates who will qualify the preliminary exam. The result of mains would be out by June 19th. The interviews would be held in July 2017 and the recruitment will get over by August 5th when final result gets out. The entire schedule is given left in the image, do check out.
The bank is also holding pre-exam training for SC/ST/religious minority community candidates from April 17 to 22. The call letters for the same would be made available on April 7th.
The prelims exam is in less than 3 months time, so candidates should start preparing. Compose yourself, form a strategy and get on with it. Apply for the exam first though.
The prelims exam would be of 1 hour duration and will have 3 sections i.e., English language (30 Qs, 30 marks), Quantitative Aptitude (35 Qs, 35 marks), and Reasoning Ability (35 Qs, 35 marks).
