SAAT 2017 – Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University Admission Test, is scheduled to be held from April 22 – 25, 2017. The national level engineering test for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate engineering programs is being held in 62 centres across 40 cities in India in computer based mode. For the academic year 2016-17, the entrance exam was conducted across 72 exam centres in 50 cities of India.
The entrance test offers admissions in 9 B.Tech disciplines at SOA University and its constituent institutes.The aspiring students could fill the application form till April 18, 2017. Performance in this written test with multiple choice questions will determine SAAT 2017 result, based on which admissions will be done through open counselling. This is the ninth time that the SAAT exam is being organized by SOA University, a deemed university.
In campus 1 of SOA, admissions to UG engineering programs will be admission through JEE Main while admission to PG programs except medical and dental programs, the admission are done on the basis of SAAT. In campus 2 and 4, the admission to both UG and PG programs except medical and dental programs are done on the basis of SAAT. In campus 3 the admission to medical and dental degree programs are done on the basis of NEET.
Exam Pattern: Each subject Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics will have 60 questions. Each correct answer will fetch 4 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. For unmarked/unattempted questions, zero will be awarded. Duration of the exam is 3 hours, means 1 hour for each subject. Total marks are 720.
The syllabus of the entrance test is very much similar to what students have studied in class 11 and 12 in their respective schools and boards. Be thorough with the same. Result will be announced online tentatively in the second week of May 2017. The university will prepare a merit list on the basis of candidates’ performance in SAAT. Counselling & Seat Allotment will be conducted purely on the basis of merit list and the availability of the seats. Candidates applying for admissions through JEE Main 2017 also have to attend the counselling as per the specified dates in the institute. The annual fee charge of B.Tech/Dual degree is somewhere around INR 99,000.
