RVUNL JE Exam on 29 & 30 December, Admit Card released

Just few days back, RVUNL (Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited) had announced the exam date for Junior Engineer recruitment and now the authority has issued the call letters for the online exam. The candidates who have applied for the JEN posts can access the admit card at the official website as the exam is going to be held on 29 & 30 December. Know about the exam and other specifications below.

The application process for 813 Junior Engineer vacancies notified by the RVUNL concluded on October 13. It is to mention here that the 813 vacancies include Junior Engineer posts for Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Control & Instrumentation and Fire & Safety branches. The online exam hence proposed aims to fill JE vacancies in Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL), Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RVPN), Jaipur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (JVVN), Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (AVVN) and Jodhpur Vitran Nigam Ltd (Jd.VVN).

The selection to JE posts would be done through online exam only as there will be no interviews. The online exam is proposed to be conducted in 32 cities across 7 states – Rajasthan, Delhi NCR, Haryana, Punjab, Gujarat, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh.

RVUNL JE exam for Electrical branch posts will be conducted on December 29, while the exam for rest of the posts would be administered on the next day, i.e. December 30. This has been done to facilitate all the candidates as the number of applicants for Electrical branch posts is much higher.

RVUNL JE exam would consist of 200 objective type questions, while the maximum marks remain 100. Each question will have 5 options, out of which the candidates will be needed to choose one. The 200 questions will be divided as :

  • Reasoning & Mental Ability – 70 questions
  • General Knowledge & Everyday Science – 30 questions
  • General Hindi – 30 questions
  • General English – 30 questions
  • Mathematics – 40 questions

The time limit for the online exam would be 2 hours. The candidates will be able to solve the questions under each section freely, as there is no time limit for separate sections. Negative marking (1/4 marks assigned to a particular question) will be applicable in the exam.

The RVUNL has set 30% marks as the minimum qualifying marks for UR category candidates, for SC/ST/BC/SBC/PH category candidates, the criteria is 20 percent. Based on the marks, RVUNL will prepare separate merit lists for JEN posts and company. The number of candidates double the number of vacancies will be called for document verification.

For RVUNL JE exam, the candidates are advised to carry :

  • Call letter with photo affixed on it
  • Photo ID card (Original as well as a photocopy)
  • One Ball Point Pen

RVUNL is also conducting the recruitment exam for Junior Chemist posts (23 posts) on December 30
